Is Tap Water Safe?

Certainly NOT for drinking, cooking, making tea or washing your fruits and vegetables! And research shows it may even be unsafe for showering unless properly filtered…

Our water supply is heavily contaminated and the greatest concerns are not the micro-organisms (e.g. viruses, bacteria, parasites) that can be found there.

The biggest problems are the toxins, ‘by-products of industry’, hormones, chemicals and heavy metals present. These toxins can damage your body’s health balance on many levels, contributing to serious disease such as cancer, cardiovascular disease, infertility, miscarriages and more.

And since boiling tap water only concentrates the toxins, the key to protecting you and your family’s health is to avoid unfiltered water at all costs. Including water that is ‘filtered’ by cheap, low quality filtration systems. It is essential to invest in a good quality water filter. How do you know if the filter you have or are going to buy is suitable? You must be able to answer a few questions, but you must also do you own independent research to find out if the filter you are intending to buy is going to be the best option to safeguard you and your family’s health.

  • Is the filtration system you are intending to buy (or currently own) supplied by a reputable, specialist water filtration shop or company?

Most filters bought at supermarkets and department stores do not provide a sufficiently fine filtration to purify your water.

  • How fine is the water system’s filtration?

The system you own must be at most 1 micron in thickness—the finer the better. Most heavily marketed, popular branded filters available at supermarkets and department stores do not meet this requirement.

  • How frequently must the filter cartridge be replaced?

Be sure to replace at the appropriate, manufacturer recommended intervals otherwise your system will be dumping extra toxins into your water.

  • Does the chosen system make it easy for you to use the water for cooking, washing your fruits and vegetables, making tea and drinking?

The best type of water filters for household purposes will be a good quality carbon bench top or under bench filters with at most 1 micron thickness.

Water is essential to hydrate and detoxify your body contributing to your optimum health. To ensure your water will be doing your health a favour instead of introducing dangerous toxins into your body, be sure to invest in a good quality water filter and drink at least 2 L filtered water daily.
